Run a FS Pilot Project

Our best suggestions to run a FS Pilot Project are:

  1. Determine who - you, an associate or other trusted leader - will facilitate the pilot project. Preference would be a staff member where possible.
  2. Select 6 or 10 authentic, relatively healthy Christ-followers who care about hurting people and are willing to commit to 9 weeks of meeting together to test a healing ministry you are seriously considering offering in your church.
  3. Give each of the participants a copy of Participant's Guide 1, letting them know they will also be responsible for the hour/week homework.
  4. Meet for 9 weeks, using the teaching DVDs or teach live. Note:  If you purchased the "Pastor Promo Package" you will find complete teaching scripts on the FS MASTER DATA CD.  At the beginning of each teaching script, you will find a Director Briefing that provides an overview of each session and at the end of each script is a Facilitator Briefing that will guide you in leading the small group discussion.
  5. For small group discussion following the teaching, divide into gender specific groups - even if you have selected married couples.  Come back together at the end of the night to briefly share what your "pilot team" has learned personally.  The personal application is very important as one of your greatest challenges will be to "normalize" FS as a healthy discipleship process for every believer.  Authentic experiences from your pilot team will be essential for this to occur.
  6. After the 9 weeks, prayerfully discern whether or not God is leading you to offer Freedom Session to others. This is the time when you invite your "pilot team" to share what they have learned while testing the program itself.  If you are using the "FS Starter 6 Kit" you can purchase the Teaching DVD Albums 2 & 3 separately to complete your set.  If you intend to use FS with 10 or more participants, we strongly encourage you to also consider the FS "Director Kit."
